Town in the province of Brescia, the history of Roncadelle is tied to its proximity and close relationship with the provincial capital. It became independent in 1800. Under the Lombard domination it was proclaimed as a "Curtis Regia" and became an important center of agricultural production that belonged to the crown, only partially planted with grass plains and vines, primarily used as a hunting and as a supply of timber for the ducal court in Brescia. Inherited by King Desiderius in 756, the court of Roncadelle was donated to the new female monastery of San Salvatore (later dedicated to Santa Giulia).
The name derives from the Latin "Runcare," moving or tilling the land for cultivation.
The most interesting historic buildings of Roncadelle are: the Parish Church, built in the XV century and expanded over the centuries XVI - XVII and XX, which contains paintings by Romanino of Paglia and Cattaneo, the Castle (now Guaineri palace) built by the Porcellana Family in the beginning of the XV century and enlarged at the end of the XVII century by Martinengo Colleoni. Other constructions of interest are: the Villa Savoldi (early XVII century), the farm mansions around the historical town centre, the old tavern and the rural church of Santa Giulia, with its exquisite paintings.
